I need help with my Syrian hamster?

I JUST got my hamster two days ago and right now it is night time but only about 9:00 and my Syrian hamster isn't out of his hideout! Well...he was out for a while then he started sitting still in a hunched position (He looked like a ball) and he would just stare and not move. He was also unresponsive. Like if I wave my hand he won't move. I'm scared what if he has wet tail? It's sad to only have my hamster for two days and all of the sudden he's gone :(
