Something doesnt seem right about the killing of Osama Bin Laden?

Just the way they simply entered his hideout and killed him, Why have they just done it now nearly 10 years after 9/11. They couldnt have carried out this operation a few days before as it would have took the media hype away from the royal wedding, they couldnt have (really) done it nearer to the 10th anniversary of 9/11 as this would have seemed purposesly timed. But surely they knew where he was long before yesterday.
